With a background in Psychology and Information Systems, Joel (he/him) has worked as a full stack developer and accessibility specialist building products for well-known retail, non-profit, and government institutions.
While engaged in his career journey, Joel slowly started to lose his eyesight; at the same time, he started to recognize the major disparities in digital user experiences across the spectrum of human abilities.
Focused on holistic solutions, Joel strongly believes product and workplace experiences can improve with early involvement of research teams laying the groundwork in companies by further considering inclusion, ability, and cultural parameters in their study participation and team composition.
Currently, Joel guides clients in understanding the impact of accessibility and inclusion while helping to guide the implementation of scalable solutions to support a vast array of both customers and enterprise needs.
