How do I participate in a phone study?
First, apply to a study! The researcher will review applications and select participants for the study. If you’re selected, you’ll receive a scheduling email allowing you to confirm a date and time to participate. Once confirmed, you’ll receive information about how to access your session. The researcher may give you a phone number to call at your designated session time, or they may call you on the phone number listed on your account.
What do I need to do to be prepared for a phone study?
Make sure you know if the researcher expects you to dial in, or if they’ll be calling you. If they’ll be calling you, ensure your profile phone number is correct, that your phone is charged, and that you have a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed during the session.
What is an interview?
Interviews are typically a conversation between you and a researcher. The researcher may ask you general questions about a topic, show you designs or a prototype and ask for feedback, or have you test their website or app while they observe you. Interviews are perfect for participants who enjoy communicating with others and sharing their opinions and experience.
How do I participate in an interview?
First, apply to a study! The researcher will review applications and select participants for the study. If you’re selected, you’ll receive a scheduling email allowing you to confirm a date and time to participate. Once confirmed, you’ll receive instructions about how to access your session.
For online interviews, you’ll receive an online meeting link. Zoom is the most popular online meeting tool on User Interviews! For in-person interviews, the researcher will give you a location and directions to help you get to the session. You can always message your researcher if you have questions or need assistance!
How and when are incentive payments distributed?
You’ll see the incentive type and amount before applying to a study. The incentive will be paid out within 10 business days (usually much sooner) once you’ve successfully participated in and completed your session.
